Summary
This trail is an enjoyable trip even in the snowy winter. It comprises two summits and has some moderately steep hiking.
Though the Metacomet-Monadnock connects on the southeast end of the mountain, the parking on that side is especially limited. It is safer to park on the southwest side and use a somewhat different start.
From the southwest side, a quick walk north on the "Round The Mountain" trail / dirt road arrives at a turn to the right. That arcs southeast and eventually intercepts another part of the "Round The Mountain". You can travel just the "Round The Mountain" but will miss out on a nice, largely untraveled walk.
"Round The Mountain" eventually joins with the Metacomet-Monadnock and the Snowshoe Trail, which both run over the mountain. The trail climbs the first slope to Little Mount Grace. At the summit there is a very nice outlook with a variety of normal and unusual lichens.
Beyond this section, the trail descends a "saddle" between Little Mount Grace. This section is less traveled, but eventually reaches an intersection with a road that sees quite a bit of snowmobile activity in the winter. From there it climbs more steeply toward the summit, offering restricted views into a sloping forested valley. It then enters a scrubby area that ultimately reaches the summit observation tower.
