New England Trail Review

Bluff Point East Loop

Click here to go to the index page...

A secondary trail that leaves the main trail to wind through the easter woods.

Summary

This is a pleasant though slightly more rugged and lengthy trail than the main loop. It covers the wooded center of the point, veers east to wind through a mushroom-packed forest, and emerges on the beach. Then it follows the south shore of the Point and eventually walks out onto the Bushy Point penninsula, where sea foam, egrets, and a lovely shore are available. Finally it closes down the west side of the main loop.

Randomly selected items...

Foreground filled with brilliant green brush; a dull blue ocean beyond, under a hazy blue sky. A white mushtoom studded with spiky lumps of white, on a thick white and scaly stalk. A set of spider legs on the left near the web and a large orange black and white spider in the center of the web, to the right. A swirled plate of orangish stone with some boulders, and a sweep of green water coming toward us. Sue walking across the sandy beach toward the sea.
