The Metacomet is one of several trails through Penwood Park.

Summary

A long and varied segment of the Metacomet, this trail runs for three miles over terrain of difficulty ranging from basic to fairly difficult, especially if you choose to explore some of the cliffs to the west of the trail.

Numerous artifacts can be found, especially near the pond known as Lake Louise.

Because of the length of the trail, you may find it easier to walk a loop from the north or south out to Lake Louise and back. In fact, the photos for this trail were taken on three separate occasions for this reason.
