Alpine Flowers and Plants

Low grasses and flowers amidst rocks. Some of the grass is reddish, and the flowers are yellow, white, and purple.
The special flowers and plants that appear in the alpine climate are usually small and precious.

Krummholz

The weathered white spines of a dead pine krummholz stick out from the low green bushes.
These stunted trees exist mostly above treeline. Krummholz can be over a hundred years old, and, if these trees were in the valley, they might be over fifty feet high. But above treeline, they are only a few feet tall.

North and Middle Sugarloaf

An open bright granite summit looks out over a landscape of higher forested mountains. A woman seems to be almost dancing on the rock.
A small pair of summits with excellent wildlife, huge boulders, and some exposed and superb views.
