Alpine Garden / Mount Washington Summit Loop

Low bushes and plants line the rocky trail with a red-clad figure in the distance against the brilliant blue sky.
Descend from Mt. Washington's summit, loop around the east side of the summit cone, and ascend steeply back to the summit. An all alpine hike.

Directissima / Glen Boulder / Lost Pond Loop

The author climbs on the overhanging west face of Glen Boulder.
A shallow pleasant trail leads to a steep ascent and alpine views on the shoulder of Mt Washington, followed by a descent to the 12,000 year old "Lost Pond".

Imp Face Loop

A foreground cliff and trees with the massive cone of Mt. Madison rising against a clear sky beyond.
A gentle start with a steep final climb to an exposed summit cliff. Fine views, and an extended descent.

Monadnock - Side Foot Trail

A view down a long bumpy granite slab toward the ground far below; a hiker on the slab and two more in the distance help set scale
A less-traveled trail that parallels the well-known White Arrow Trail.

North and Middle Sugarloaf

An open bright granite summit looks out over a landscape of higher forested mountains. A woman seems to be almost dancing on the rock.
A small pair of summits with excellent wildlife, huge boulders, and some exposed and superb views.
