Directissima / Glen Boulder / Lost Pond Loop

The author climbs on  the overhanging west face of Glen Boulder.
A shallow pleasant trail leads to a steep ascent and alpine views on the shoulder of Mt Washington, followed by a descent to the 12,000 year old "Lost Pond".
 

Lonesome Lake

The mountains are bluish green beyond the foliage line that is the rim of the metallic lake water. Green low foliage of even height is in the foreground.
A lake on a high plateau with beautiful views and interesting plants and wildlife.
 

Lost Pond Trail - 2001

On the far side of the pond, the female moose steps from the water, forequarters high, head turned toward us.
A 12,000+ year old pond nestled in the woods near Pinkham Notch.
