Harts Pond / Fall - Mesh of Grape Vines

A fallen tree has torn down a set of grape vines and pulled the trees that are attached to them into smoothly curved shapes.

Harts Pond / Fall - Trees Pulled Over

These trees have been pulled into this odd shape by the action of a fallen tree that shared a complex enmeshing of grape vines. If they stay in this position long enough, it may either kill them or affect their growth so that they take on a strange curved shape for the rest of their lives.

Harts Pond / Fall - Bent Tree

This tree shows the burden of some past weather event, perhaps a fallen tree that bent it, leaving a permanent shape change.

Harts Pond -Old Tree

This large tree grew up when there was no forest here, which allowed its boughs to spread so widely. Probably, this land was farmed at the time, and this tree was at one part of the boundarty.

Mount Grace - Rock Eating Tree

Trees will do anything to plant their roots - they have no choice. This image shows yet another variation on the rock-eating tree, from beside the trail leading to the summit.
