Applachian Trail / Maine Wilderness - View From White Cap Mountain (Panorama)

Looking across about 30 miles back toward Mount Katahdin. Because of the winding nature of the trail, this is about 55 miles of hiking away.

The alpine landscape is pretty normal, with scrubby trees, granite chunks and lemon colored lichen on the stones.

The panorama covers the full 360 degrees and shows Ron displaying his beard.

Applachian Trail / Maine Wilderness - At the Summit of Little Boardman Mountain

Ron, Brett and Shian stand on the summit of Little Boardman Mountain. The mountain in the distance may be the Shanty Mountains (left) and White Cap Mountain (right). The AT eventually crosses White Cap Mountain.

Ara holds her hat against the wind at the summit. Unfortunately, not much later, it is swept away by the wind and lost on the mountain.
