Mount Tom - Metacomet / Monadnock Ridge
The tip of a long ridge at the southwest end of a massive arc of cliffs and slopes, marked with highly visible communication towers, long ago the home of a resort hotel.

Mt. Tom / Metacomet - Railings At Last Many years ago, the summit of Mt. Tom was host to a large hotel (shown in this postcard). There are very few remnants of that time (the early 1900s), but this sidewalk is one of them. It offers a stunning view to the south and west, and is, itself, an interesting contrast.
