Thompson Falls
A short hike near the Wildcat Ski Area across from Pinkham Notch. A wonderful though not always easy trail with many pretty cascades.

This stream was once a place where logs were shipped down from the mountains to the Androscoggin River in Gorham. The brown water may be due to manganese concentrated by some type of algae, or to the algae themselves. See also… 7/22/2002 |
