Thompson Falls - Going To The Stream
One of the interpretive areas of the trail is reached by a spur that leads out to a walkway and a viewing area overlooking a stream. This is the walkway.

Thompson Falls - The Stream
This stream was once a place where logs were shipped down from the mountains to the Androscoggin River in Gorham. The brown water may be due to manganese concentrated by some type of algae, or to the algae themselves.

Thompson Falls - Walkway and Grass Beside Stream
Beside the stream is this uniform area of perfect grasses.

Thompson Falls - Crossing The Brown Stream
The path crosses this stream, which is a tributary to the stream down near the trailhead. The water here is also brown, perhaps from the same algae or minerals as that stream.
