Applachian Trail / Maine Wilderness - View From White Cap Mountain (Panorama)

A brilliant blue sky streaked with cirrus, a mountain (Katahdin) in the distance, and a nearby slope of alpine granite with yellowish lichens.

Looking across about 30 miles back toward Mount Katahdin. Because of the winding nature of the trail, this is about 55 miles of hiking away.

The alpine landscape is pretty normal, with scrubby trees, granite chunks and lemon colored lichen on the stones.

The panorama covers the full 360 degrees and shows Ron displaying his beard.
