 Harts Pond / Fall - Yellow and Orange Cup Fungi

 

A slot in a brown log reveals brilliant yellow and orange mushrooms

These cup fungi (the yellow species is probably Bisporella citrina) are just emerging from this log to release spores. Like most cup fungi, these will bear their spores on the surface of the mushroom, rather than on gills or in spores.
