Mount Watatic, Wapack / Midstate Loop - Lightning Gnarled Tree

A vastly aged and knobbly tan/grey tree trunk with an irregular coating of moss, shattered by a large and zig-zag crack.

This tree may have been damaged by lightning long ago - the jagged crack is often a sign of a tree broken by the superheated steam that is generated in a living tree core by a lightning bolt. It would be ironic if such a bolt left the tree in the same form as the bolt that caused it.
