Alpine Garden Trail - Sue in the Alpine Garden

Low bushes and plants line the rocky trail with a red-clad figure in the distance against the brilliant blue sky.

Soon we arrive at the intersection with the Alpine Garden Trail, and we can now turn north, parallelling the flank of the Mount Washington summit. The only unfortunate part of this trail comes when a eastbound wind picks up the stench of the coal burning cog railway and sweeps it down over this section of the trail. However, the sights are so beautiful and the going so easy that this minor problem can be easily ignored. The krummholz here is probably made up of Diapensia, Lapland Rosebay and Alpine Azalea [Alpine Zone of the Presidential Range, Bliss].
