Mount Watatic, Wapack / Midstate Loop - Possible Bluebead Lily With Fly
These plants may be Clintonia borealis, a common species in the Northeast, and a member of the Lily family, but usually noticed for its stalk with several bright blue (and poisonous) berries. Interestingly, or perhaps coincidentally, there are two flies on these plants, and they appear to be looking toward each other.

This little shelter is covered with engravings from many past visitors, and represents the lowest part of the more park-like area around the summit, formerly a location for a tower.

Mount Watatic, Wapack / Midstate Loop - Summit Road
This brief view of the road toward the summit was taken as a side jaunt from the trail. We preferred to hike up the woods way. But the view is beautiful. The contrast between the road, the rusted ski lift remnant to the left, and the flawless sky makes this an exceptional sight.
