Mount Greylock / Jones Nose - Looking Toward Greylock From The Field
The narrow path winds across the hillocks of the southern part of Jones Nose. To the north is the southernmost part of the Mt. Greylock ridge before Jones Nose. Many different types of plants inhabit the field. On the path are characteristic metamorphic rocks.

Mount Greylock / Jones Nose - An Embedded Boulder In The Field
This closeup of a metamorphic boulder the path crosses shows this characteristic rock well. The path extends toward the northern limit of the field. The patches of light material on the boulder are lichens, just beginning the work of breaking down the rock into soil.
